She’s baaaaaaaaaaack!

After her last years’ mortifying performance at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, Brit returned to the MTV stage this week to tape a promotional video for this year’s event.

The shoot also included a 9,000 pound elephant with the joke being ‘there is an elephant in the room and no-one is supposed to talk about it’.

While the network cannot confirm whether Brit will appear on the show airing on Sept. 7, this promo appearance is a promising sign. The singer, who has been nominated 17 times, has yet to walk away with a win and is up for two this year. She is up for best female video and best pop video.

Earlier today, Mariah Carey visited the MTV studios looking like she stepped out of the set of her incredibly successful movie, ‘Glitter‘. (That was sarcasm FYI)

Actually, I think she looked more like she just came from an 80’s themed party.

As daggy as the outfit does look, she still is pretty damn hot for her age! Good on her.

MTV isn’t ruling out giving viewers more Britney Spears at this year’s Video Music Awards. “Everyone deserves a second or third chance, right?” Van Toffler, president of MTV Networks Music Group, playfully told The Associated Press during a telephone interview Friday. When asked if he was just joking, Toffler said “sorta.”"Who knows?” he said.
